Respiratory Infectious Disease
According to the Global Tuberculosis Report 2020 (hereinafter referred to as "the Report") released by the World Health Organization, tuberculosis remains one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide and has been ranked as the top single infectious disease cause of death since 2007. The Report shows that in 2019, there were about 9.96 million new cases of TB globally, with an incidence rate of 130/100,000; China ranks third globally with an estimated 833,000 new cases of TB, accounting for about 8.4% of the world. 65,000 people suffered from multi-drug-resistant TB in 2019, with drug-resistant TB accounting for 14%, ranking second globally.
In response to TB prevention and control, WHO has proposed an action target to end the TB epidemic by 2035, and China has released the Action Plan to Stop TB (2019-2022), which is a challenge to achieve the goal of ending the TB epidemic by 2035 in the context of the novel coronavirus pandemic [1].
In 2018, Igenesis signed a contract with the national "13th Five-Year Plan" major project "Multi-center evaluation of multiple combination diagnosis technology for tuberculosis", and Igenesis's IGS TB/RIF Lite product has passed the evaluation and acceptance. The iCassette can detect Mycobacterium Tuberculosis and multiple targets of Rifampicin resistance in one tube, and assist in clinical drug treatment.
